Creating a New Project

Applications are defined in ObjGen using a Project workspace. ObjGen gives you the choice of generating your applications and objects using the default Visual Basic code generator or to generate from pre-defined, language independent code templates. When using the ObjGen default code generator, the user can choose data access options that include the type of data access library to use. The ObjGen default code generator supports ADO, RDO and DAO, while the code templates that make up the application framework will define how the data will be accessed.

ObjGen projects can be saved and reopened at any time during the definition process. A new project workspace is created for you by default each time you start ObjGen unless you are opening an existing project from the command line or by launching an ObjGen project file directly.
